If so, consider becoming an intern at Natural Capitalism Solutions (NCS), a non-profit that works with companies, communities, countries, and governments to increase sustainability, efficiency, and profits.
Hunter Lovins and the Natural Capitalism Solutions team create tools to assist businesses and industry in developing sustainable practices and in becoming sustainable organizations. Natural Capitalism Solutions’ interns will research and analyze existing management tools, techniques, and actual practices of organizations pursuing sustainability. In addition, these interns will help develop new tools and strategies to support this work.
• Work with the NCS team and sustainability pioneer, Hunter Lovins.
• Take active part in innovative discussions and planning sessions involving critical thinking about sustainability issues and practice.
• Research, compose, and prepare background materials for various levels of project work.
• Gain practical research experience in the sustainability field.
• Help create tools to assist businesses and industry to develop sustainable practices and become sustainable organizations.
• See the direct results of your work on the structure of capitalism.
• Receive recognition for work on published reports.
• Participate in local conferences, industry & networking events, staff meetings, and company outings.

The internship is unpaid and requires 15-25 hours per week (flexible).
Interns are required work out of the Longmont office for the majority of the internship. No Remote internships.

Sustainability Implementation Interns assist project managers on various levels of consulting work. Specific projects depend on client needs and can incorporate any of our services. Interns are expected to take responsibility for their work and ask questions so that they can gain as much experience as possible. Interns can assist on all levels of project work from proposal writing to initial research to composition toward the final report. Sustainability Implementation Interns will typically work on one project throughout their internship but should be flexible in order to assist on other projects as the need arises.

The Business Development & Marketing intern would assist in the development and implementation of marketing, social media, and sales strategies for NCS's consulting and training services and Hunter Lovins’ upcoming articles and books. The intern will have the unique opportunity to help shape the market strategy of new and innovative programs and be exposed to a higher level of responsibility than at a typical company, taking ownership of key marketing strategies, materials, and communications within NCS's outreach. Interns will also assist at various events and workshops, providing excellent networking opportunities.

The Policy & Research Intern will help research policy recommendations for the Presidential Climate Action Project (PCAP). The intern will be part of a fast-paced push to wrap the project up in December. The intern will work for Bill Becker, the Executive Director at Natural Capitalism Solutions.
